heya am new to surfing and want to buy a wetsuit and a surf board.

im just gonna buy some second hand gear but av noticed that theres differernt thickness of suits. what thickness do ppl use?? i,ll be surfing at tyne mouth in the north east.

Hi Stevie,

they are different thinknesses for different seasons, so basically:

3/2mm - these are summer wetsuits and have 3mm neoprene on the chest and 2mm on the arms and legs

4/3mm - these are inbetween winter and summer, only really worth it if you are surfing alot

5/3mm - standard winter suits for when its really cold! defo worth getting if you are surfing between october and may in the UK
